Bold & Positive Mantras Anyone Should Follow

Creative posters made of bold typography by Anthony Burrill. Positively simple, catchy mantras for me to follow whenever I’m feeling down & out, to get me back on track.

All That Glitters Friday: Sephora By OPI Spark-tacular Top Coat

(Image: via Sephora by OPI)

Since I couldn’t find an accessory this whole week that I’d like to write about, I searched for the next best thing… my glitter nail polish that I recently ordered from Sephora. I’m obsessed with Sephora & was hooked to buy this item (along with some more products) to try on. This ‘Spark-tacular’ top coat adds a glittery finishing touch that’s like jewelry for my nails. After trying the nail polish by itself with three coats, I simply fell in L-O-V-E! My friends also complimented how cute my glittery nails are! This top coat is perfect to wear during the holiday season over red or black nail polish. Alright folks, hope you all avoided the craziness of Black Friday, & enjoy a safe & wonderful holiday weekend!

I love the simple & relaxed look of this outfit. I want to know where I can find me some mint-colored pants just like hers! Topping it off with the large buckle belt and clutch make the outfit look so classy.

What You Should Be Reading: Article On “The Hipsterification Of America”

Hipsters are everywhere! The article The Hipsterification of America was something I found while I was on Twitter, & I just had to post it on my blog since hipster culture is prominent in fashion, music, & lifestyle. According to the Urban Dictionary, hipsters are “a subculture of men & women typically in their 20’s & 30’s who value independent thinking, counterculture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art & indie music, creativity, intelligence, & witty banter.” I couldn’t help but giggle a bit & be enlightened at the same time as I was reading about hipsters while being surrounded by hipsters on a daily basis. What caught my attention was learning about the current production of a documentary-style Web series American Hipster that’s airing on YouTube in April 2012. I hope you guys read this interesting article on hipster culture. What are your thoughts & does this culture affect your lifestyle in any way?

All That Glitters Friday: Bella’s Wedding Shoes From ‘Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn Part One’

To celebrate the release of Breaking Dawn this week, Bella’s gorgeous shoes by Manolo Blahnik are available now at Neiman Marcus. Bella wore the ‘Swan’ Embellished Satin Pumps in white during the anticipated wedding scene. These lovely pumps also come in black & pink at $1295 a pop. The white one is really pretty to wear as wedding shoes, but the black pumps are my favorite! What are your thoughts on the ‘Swan’ pumps & did anyone watch Breaking Dawn yet? I personally think it’s not the greatest movie, but it’s good eye-candy entertainment. Hope you have a great weekend!

Interactive Rainbow Airport Walkway

“Harmonic Convergence,” by Washington D.C. native Christopher Janney, will entertain and amuse travelers as they use the airport’s 180 foot-long moving walkway. This installation is composed of 132 sheets of colored glass organized in “zones of color.” There’s also strategically placed movement-activated speakers to provide beautiful sounds native to Florida. Travelers can expect to not only hear music, but sounds of crickets and flocks of birds.
